RESPOND June 2023-Supporting Asylum Seekers
University of Illinois, Chicago Adjunct Professor, Helena María Olea Rodríguez, will speak on what asylum seekers are experiencing and ways that direct service providers can better support them. Professor Olea Rodriguez’s research and teaching interests include: human rights, gender studies, immigration, refugee studies and statelessness. She is particularly interested in exploring ways in which non-citizens rights and gender discrimination cases can seek protection through domestic and international litigation.
